Mr. Soo-Ho Jo has joined Prof. Alper Erturk’s group (Smart Structures & Dynamical Systems Laboratory), G. W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology at Atlanta, U.S.A. to establish cooperative ties for research and scholarly exchange as a visting scholar. He was chosen for BK21 Plus Transformative Training Program for Creative Mechanical Aerospace Engineers, Seoul National University (SNU) and has joined Prof. Alper Erturk’s group from January 21th to March 2nd in 2019.

During the exchange program, he has realized “<em>Broadband Elastic Wave Collimation Using Anisotropic Elastic Metamaterials</em>” for the first time. He has proposed a theoretical approach based on Chirstoffel equation and presented the broadband elastic wave collimation with designing the anisotropic elastic metamaterials. In addition, Prof. Alper Erturk’s group has validated the broadband elastic wave collimation through experiments. With this international collaboration, our laboratory promotes the interaction in research and education with Prof. Alper Erturk’s group.
